ACTIVATING YOUR NEW SIM

 

Before we get into it, here’s a handy pre-activation checklist that’ll guarantee everything goes without a hitch.

Pre-activation checklist

  • Don’t cancel your current service until your activation is complete.
  • Ensure your phone is unlocked and all its software is up to date.
  • Have your transfer information ready if you are planning to bring an existing number over.

Once all that’s sorted, there are two simple ways for you to activate your new SIM:

On the amaysim app

  • Download and open the amaysim app.
  • Select ‘Activate new SIM’.
  • Either scan the barcode on your SIM OR manually enter your 13-digit SIM number.
  • Follow the in-app instructions to complete your activation.

Online

  • Visit our online activation page.
  • Enter your 13-digit SIM number.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your activation.
     

Your new SIM should be ready to use immediately

Once your SIM has been successfully activated, you’re good to go! And you’re able to enjoy all the amazing benefits of being an amaysim customer right away.
 

It will take a little longer for your number to be transferred

While your SIM will be activated immediately, number transfers usually become active with a couple of hours of activation. Depending on which provider you’re switching from, this process can take up to three working days.

While you’re waiting for your number to transfer, you can continue to use your old SIM. Once it stops working, you’ll know your number has been transferred to your amaysim SIM.
 

Activating a replacement SIM

If you’re an existing amaysim customer activating a replacement SIM, just follow these simple steps and you’ll be on your way…

Activating via My amaysim

  • Log in to My amaysim.
  • Select ‘Plan’ under your mobile number.
  • Select ‘Replace SIM’.
  • Select ‘Activate replacement SIM’ under the ‘Already have a replacement SIM? Section.
  • Enter your 13-digit SIM number, then click ‘Next’.

Activating via the amaysim app

  • Log in to the amaysim app and swipe up on the home screen.
  • Select ‘Replace SIM’.
  • Select ‘Activate replacement SIM’ under the ‘Already have a replacement SIM? Section.
  • Enter your 13-digit SIM number, then click ‘Next’.


We’ll take care of all the rest and send you an email confirming that your new SIM is now active.
