Enabling your Netcomm NF8AC modem to work with amaysim

Resetting your modem may resolve any connectivity issues. Using a pin or paper clip, insert it into the ‘reset' hole on the back of the modem and hold it for 10 seconds. Allow around 5 minutes for the modem to perform a reset.

If that does not work, follow these steps, depending on your technology type.


For FTTP/HFC/FTTC technology types

  1. In your internet browser, type http://192.168.20.1 into the browsers address bar and press enter
  2. Login with these details:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin
  3. Select ‘Advanced setup’ then ‘WAN’
  4. If there is a row with the Type ‘PPPoE’, check the ‘Remove' tickbox and select ‘Remove’
  5. Select ‘Add’
  6. In the dropdown, select ‘eth4/eth4’ and then Next
  7. Select ‘IPoE’ and then Next until you reach a summary screen titled ‘WAN Setup - Summary screen’
  8. Press Apply/Save
  9. Restart modem, if necessary - it may take some time for your settings to update

 

For FTTN/FTTB technology types

  1. In your internet browser, type http://192.168.20.1 into the browsers address bar and press enter
  2. Login with these details:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin
  3. Select ‘Advanced setup’ then ‘Layer2 Interface' and then ‘PTM Interface’
  4. Select ‘Add’, do not change any settings and select ‘Apply/Save'
  5. Navigate to ‘WAN service’ and select ‘Add’
  6. From the dropdown, select ptm0/(0_1_1) and then Next
  7. Select WAN Service Type: Internet Protocol over Ethernet (IPoE)
  8. Enter Service Description: amaysim
  9. Network Protocol Selection: IPv4 Only
  10. Select Next until you reach a summary screen titled ‘WAN Setup - Summary screen’
  11. Press Apply/Save
  12. Restart modem, if necessary - it may take some time for your settings to update
