Troubleshooting: 6 tips to get connected to amaysim NBN
Congrats! You’ve got yourself an amaysim NBN plan, but for some reason are unable to connect to the internet.
Do not fret, we are here. Here are 6 things you can check off the list that may quickly solve your connection troubles.
1. Check your inbox
This is the first step. You will receive an email or SMS from us to let you know that your home is connected to amaysim NBN. Haven’t received an email? It just means that we’re still working on getting you connected. This usually takes around 15-30 minutes, and sometimes up to 24 hours.
2. Fire up your WiFi modem/router
It’s so easy to overlook, but make sure that your WiFi modem/router is switched on. Here’re a couple of guides that can help you confirm that you have the right NBN equipment, and that you are correctly connected.

3. Make sure your WiFi modem/router is flashing a solid green/blue/white
If the lights are red/yellow/orange, or are frequently blinking, this may be an indication that something is incorrectly connected. Make sure that the cables are in the right place. Read more here:

If your equipment is connected to a wall port try using another port in your home.
4. When in doubt, re-start your WiFi modem/router
- Switch off your WiFi modem/router and NBN equipment (if applicable).
- Switch your NBN equipment (if applicable) back on, and allow 20 minutes to pass
- Switch your WiFi modem/router back on, and allow 5 minutes to pass before checking your connection
5. Reset your NBN equipment (if applicable)
Your NBN connection box has a RESET button on its back. Press the button for 2 seconds and allow 20 minutes to pass before checking your connection.
6. Update configuration on your WiFi modem/router
