Enabling your Telstra Smart Modem to work with amaysim
If you brought your Telstra Smart Modem to a telco, such as TPG, Dodo or Exetel, before bringing it to amaysim, you may need to reset your modem to it’s factory settings so it can work with amaysim.
To reset your modem to factory settings physically:
- With a pin or paperclip, find the hole at the back of your modem that says ‘Reset’
- Insert the pin or paperclip and hold it for about 10 seconds
- The lights of your modem should flash
- Allow 5 minutes for the reset to finalise - this will be completed when the lights are green
To reset your modem to factory settings using a browser:
- In your internet browser, type http://192.168.0.1 or http://mygateway/ into the browsers address bar and press enter
- Login with these details:
- Username: admin
- Password (depending on your modem type):
- Smart Modem 1.1 or Gen 2: Telstra
- Gen 3: you can find this on the bottom of the modem
- Navigate to ‘Advanced' and select ‘Management’
- Select ‘System Reset’ and then ‘Reset’
- Allow 5 minutes for the reset to finalise - this will be completed when the lights are green
